Paarl or 'Pearl', in the Paarl valley of the Cape Winelands, is a picturesque town featuring some of the best Cape Dutch Architecture in the region complementing an interesting Afrikaans history with a solid pedigree in wine production. The main road through Paarl, stretches for several kilometres with fantastic architecture, wine estates, churches, restaurants and shops dotted along it.
Regarded as one of the premier wine producing regions of South Africa, Paarl is aslo a nature lovers paradise. Outdoor activities include golf, hiking, horse riding, canoeing on the Berg River, fishing and mountain biking opportunities.
