Wellington Museum, in central Wellington off Kerk Street, documents the rich history of the area in the Boland now known as the town of Wellington on top of other interesting cultures. The museum contains exhibits of Stone Age artefacts, ethnic African tools and even an Egyptian collection. To complement these, the museum covers the ties that Wellington has with France, England, Scotland and the Netherlands in Europe and then on to America.
For those interested in the European side of Wellington's history, the museum contains a wealth of information on the Free Burghers of the Netherlands and the Huguenots' influence on the town.
