Paternoster - West Coast

The small fishing village of Paternoster along the West Coast of the Cape is very picturesque with its white washed houses and holiday cottages. The village has become extremely popular within the last few years with Capetonians choosing Paternoster as their weekend getaway. Paternoster is characterised by its architecture, white sandy beaches and turquoise sea. There are a handful of restaurants and one or two shops to buy groceries in town. The Cape Columbine Nature reserve is a few minutes drive from the village centre where it is possible to camp overnight or simply explore the rocks and rock pools for the day.

In terms of things to do, most revolve around the sea. Sea fishing, sea kayaking, snorkeling and diving are the most popular water sports. If not for you, then stroll along the main beach, sip wine at the Paternoster hotel or just soak up the sun in this tranquil seaside town.
