Oude Libertas is one of the oldest wineries in South Africa where the oldest ampitheatre in Stellenbosch was built and opened in 1977. The opening concert featured Russian pianist Vladimir Ashkenazy. Over the last 30 plus years, the amphitheatre has hosted summer outdoor concerts with a wide variety of local and international artists performances enhancing the fantastic views of the Stellenbosch mountains and vineyards.
The Oude Libertas winery is also the location of the weekly Stellenbosch Slow Food Market where locals and visitors alike can enjoy a relaxing Saturday morning enjoying fine local produce, arts and crafts and the Stellenbosch way of life.
