The seaside town of Kleinmond is on the way to Hermanus along the Whale Route and well located close to the excellent Arabella Golf Estate. Many Capetonians have weekend beach houses in Kleinmond, a short drive away from the City Centre. Being close to Hermanus, Kleinmond is also a prime location for whale watching, which is best during the months of July until November.
The Kleinmond beach is a long expanse of pristine white sand along the turquoise waters of the Southern Atlantic. It's great for kids, there's the occassional decent wave for bodyboarders and surfers and of course, you can get a tan while lazing away in the sun but make sure you put some sun block on. Other activities include hiking in the nearby Kogelberg mountains, rafting on the Palmiet river and enjoying a drink or two while eating at the entertaining bars and restaurants in the Kleinmond Waterfront.
