Kirstenbosch Gardens are the world-renowned botanical gardens of Cape Town and are open to the public daily with over 500 hectares to explore. Visitors can wander through the immaculate gardens and admire plants, trees and flowers indigenous to South Africa such as 'fynbos', and the national flower, the King Protea. It is also possible to picnic on the demarcated grassed areas within the gardens, which are also used to host concerts in the summertime.
