Kalk Bay

Kalk Bay is a popular spot located between Muizenburg and Fishhoek beside the ocean. The town has gained a bit of reputation as an old hippy hangout. One can see why with the many bohemian boutiques open for business along the main road, but there are numerous antique stores, quality restaurants, coffee shops and art galleries with great ceramic works also in Kalk Bay.

The long established Kalk Bay harbour is a working fishing harbour with many local fishermen launching their daily expeditions from here. Amongst other locals, the harbour wall is also a popular spot to try their luck at landing a nice fish from the sea for dinner.

Kalk Bay is home to the restaurant called the Brass Bell, a favourite among seafood lovers, reasonably priced and one of the few where you can sit outside and enjoy the sprawling sea views.
