Gansbaai is the great white shark diving capital of the world. On the south west coast of South Africa, Gansbaai is a mecca for adrenaline seeking divers. Dyer Island and Shark Alley is the place to go with one of the reputed Shark Cage Diving operators in the area to see one of the world's fiercest predators.
Make your way to Gansbaai and join one of the shark diving tour operators who will take you out to Shark Alley, throw some chum in and a seal decoy and wait for the great whites to arrive. Seeing them in the flesh is unbelievable as they gracefully swim by eyeing the bait and decoys before having a go and chomping away at them with their fierce teeth and mouths.
There aren't just great white sharks though, sight the popular Southern Right whales, spot playful dolphins, visit Danger Point lighthouse, hike, fish and swim on the beautiful beaches and enjoy the vibe of the coastal town of Gansbaai.
