Bo Kaap is situated on the steep slopes of Signal Hill and was once home
to the many slaves from the East. Today it is a living national monument and
is fast becoming another one of the trendiest parts of Cape Town.
Bo Kaap is brought alive by colourful Cape Malay houses, mosques and
fezzes intertwined with up and coming bars, coffee shops and restaurants
along the narrow roads. One such place where you will find a good place
to eat and drink is 'Die Waterkant' which can be described as a
'piazza' within Bo Kaap. On a sunny day or any weekend it is
definitely the place to see and be seen.
