Victoria & Alfred Waterfront - Shopping

The V&A Waterfront is undoubtedly Cape Town's hub for entertainment. Not only do most of the boat trips that sail along the Cape coastline or to Robben Island depart from here, but there are also numerous take away outlets and restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets, pubs and bars, cinemas, an Imax theatre and shops offering everything from jewellery, furniture, home décor and beauty to fashion, accessories and groceries. On the ground floor there are a number of licensed vendors selling tourist memorabilia, local clothing and trinkets.

For souvenir shopping you will find locally crafted jewellery, furniture and leather goods at the Red Shed in the V&A. Of interest in the Red Shed is the glass blower who creates beautiful replicas of indigenous flowers. On the outskirts of the V&A, near the Two Oceans Aquarium, there is a craft market with arts and crafts from Southern Africa. Nearby there is also a good music outlet called Musica, it was formerly a CD Warehouse outlet, with a large range of music from international to local.
