The many mountain ranges and rock faces in the Cape Town area and the greater Western Cape provide the avid rock climber with the perfect playground. Popular outdoor and indoor locations exist in Cape Town itself. The Cederberg, Klein Karoo, Garden Route and Breede River valley are local favourites for rock climbing.
Rock climbing is a safe sport when practiced correctly and using secure equipment and proper techniques. For those attempting climbing for the first time, we strongly recommend they do so accompanied by an experienced climber or a qualified instructor.
